‘Pinocchio’ comes to life on Disney + with Oscar winners Tom Hanks, Robert Zemeckis!

Burbank, California – “Pinocchio” first entered the hearts of moviegoers in 1940. Now 82 years later, there’s a remake starring Tom Hanks and directed by Academy Award-winning Robert Zemeckis. The two previously worked together on “Forrest Gump”.

“Tom and I have a shortcut,” Zemeckis said. I mean, Tom said to me in the past, ‘I always know we’re going to do another one depending on how I hear you say a broken word. “

Hanks says Walt Disney wanted to make great movies… so Zemeckis was the right guy to reshoot this Disney masterpiece.

“Handing that over to Bob Zemeckis in this day and age, I think that goes with that tradition,” Hanks said.

For young actor Benjamin Ainsworth, who stars in the title role, that dream has come true.

“It’s one of those magical moments, like being part of a Disney blockbuster, and reimagining it, like working with Tom Hanks, Robert Zemeckis, Luke Evans, Cynthia Erivo, the list goes on!” Ainsworth said.

“What you see on the screen is very much a fantasy and the creation of very smart people with computers!” Evans said.

“I have, like, a great like, forgive the pun, a moment to stretch my wings and then sing this great song and then go. It’s beautiful,” Erivo said.

“Pinocchio” is now streaming on Disney+.

The Walt Disney Company is the parent company of Disney+ and this ABC station.
